Strategic Priorities

Each year, SNA’s top leadership works with staff to establish an Annual Plan of strategies and tactics to meet the goals and objectives set out in its multi-year Strategic Plan, which identifies four core areas:

  • Education and Professional Development: School nutrition professionals will have the necessary knowledge, skills and expertise to administer, manage and deliver healthy school meal programs.
  • Advocacy: Policy makers, school officials and parents will rely on SNA as the authority for designing and funding school meal programs.
  • Community: School nutrition programs nationwide will be strengthened through collaboration with members, state affiliates, industry and allied partners.
  • Infrastructure: SNA will have a financially sustainable funding model with a nimble governance structure and headquarters staff organization that is aligned with the strategic plan and reflects contemporary association business practices.

SNA is committed to ensuring transparency of its activities and governance. 2017-18 is the last year of the current SNA Strategic Plan; the Association is scheduled to begin development of its next strategic plan in January 2018.
