SNA State Association Awards The SNA Awards Program recognizes state associations and their leaders for the outstanding job they do connecting members to valuable resources. Winners of the SNA State Association Awards will be recognized at the Awards Ceremony at the Annual National Conference (ANC). President’s Award of Service, in honor of Thelma Flanagan Each year, SNA awards every state president with the President’s Award of Service, in honor of Thelma Flanagan. This award recognizes the dedication and commitment state presidents provide throughout the year to strive to accomplish SNA’s mission and work to meet the SNA strategic goals. President’s Award of Excellence The President’s Award of Excellence recognizes three state presidents each year who demonstrate extraordinary leadership by successfully implementing strategies that advance school nutrition programs in their states and who made the extra effort in achieving excellence in SNA’s strategic goals. In order to provide equal opportunity for states of different sizes, the President’s Award of Excellence is awarded to one state president in each of the three member divisions: 1-600 Member Division 601-1,200 Member Division 1,201+ Member Division State Presidents will automatically be entered to win the President’s Award of Excellence once they have submitted the Year-End Report. Membership Awards Each year, SNA recognizes state associations for increasing membership, attaining the membership goals, and achieving the greatest increase in membership amongst state associations. Professional Development Awards Each year, SNA recognizes state associations attaining SNA certificate program goals and achieving the highest increase in SNS credentialing.
